Sosai Etuzan Kimura Shieijyuku Karate Founder
When Sosai Etsuzan Kimura was 25 in 1978, he became an student under Shihan Tetsuyuki Hanada , from Nihonden Kenpoh-do karate, a full contact karate that allow low kicks,knee strikes and direct blows to the face, at the age of 29 (1982) Sosai (master) Kimura was promoted to black belt 1st degree and become the teacher of Niigata Dojo (karate school).
At the same time, in 1982 his Niigata Dojo started with 8 members, The dojo got the permission to use an elementary school gym for karate practice with the help of Mr. Yoshida, a member of the House of Representatives in Niigata Japan. In 1985 the Organization Nihonden Kenpoh-Do Karate was dissolved by Shihan Tetsuyuki Hanada do some personal reasons, In April 1985 Etsuzan Kimura and other members opened new dojos and started to act under the current name of Shieijyuku. 1989 (July) Shieijyuku had the first summer camp at a Japanese temple having on the camp 12 students participating, in July 1991, Shieijyuku had the third summer camp at a training center having 4 time the amount of participant.
In December 1993,Shieijyuku formally asked Mr. Yoshida to become the chairperson and sponsors of Niigata Dojo.Mr. Yoshida was a great help and help Shieijyuku to host the first winter training that was televise on Japan TV. Members of Shieijyuku start competing in Kyokushin Tournaments in Japan and Shieijyuku students start to show great techniques and winning in every division. In 1994 Sosai Etuzan Kimura got promoted to 4th dan. Later in 1995 Shieijyuku organized the first eastern Japan Junior Tournament, later the same year Sosai Etuzan Kimura quit his job to dedicate himself to Shieijyuku Karate, after that the dojo start getting more members, from 8 members to 60 and that’s when he decided to rent the Shieijyuku headquarters.
Shieijyuku opened in Kameda branch, Nishikawa branch, Nitsu Branch, Shirone Branch, Niigata South Branch, in June 2001 had a summer camp with more than 240 students, later in June Niigata Sogo Television Broadcasting station host a 1 hour show about Shieijyuku karate.
Shieijyuku joined the Japan International Karate Organization and became the vice representative of the group, in August 2002 Sosai Etuzan Kimura got promoted to 6th dan from the Japan International Karate Organization
Shieijyuku decided to use the dojo motto after considering those of Kyokushinkaikan and Ashiwarakaikan, he also decided to add to Shieijyuku Karate some of the Kyokushin and Shoto Kan Katas’
In April 2003 Shieijyuku opened Niigata west branch,Toyosaka Branch,the number of students reached 300. Later Sosai Etuzan Kimura son, Syunsuke Kimura got the 3er place in the first National Kyokushin Karate Championship (Open Weight Division) after that Shieijyuku start growing very quickly, the amount of members in 2006 reach the 600, they start to appear in TV Shows, Magazines. Many dojos open around Japan. In 2009 Shieijyuku was invited to Italy to attend a karate tournament and started to spread Shieijyuku throughout the word. Marco Brondani (Italy) Mr. Keith Priestly (Britain) Benjamin Rodriguez (PUR)-(USA) Bulent Buyuk (Turkey) are the first Branch Manager out of Japan
In 2010 Etsuzan Kimura got promoted to “Sosai”, and acquired the 8th dan
In the actual time 2015 Shieijyuku Karate has members in, Japan, Italy, Russia, Turkey, Britain, Poland, Uzbekistan, India, Iran, Pakistan, Spain, USA, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Chile, Colombia
